You are engaged! First of all, Congrats!! Amidst all the joy and excitement, you’ve probably decided that the traditional big wedding isn’t quite your style. And you’re dreaming of a more intimate, beautiful elopement where it’s just about you, your partner! However, finding the perfect location for this special day can be a challenge. Should you choose the rugged beauty of the mountains or the serene expanse of the coast? Both options have their own unique charm and allure. Don’t worry, I’m here to help you with this exciting decision. Let’s compare the two, so you can figure out which one aligns best with your dream elopement!!
First, let’s talk about mountain elopements. Imagine saying your vows with the stunning backdrop of Mount Rainier or Glacier National Park. Or maybe you’re dreaming of an international adventure in the Dolomites in Italy! The mountains offer a rugged, breathtaking beauty. You can find amazing spots in Colorado, the North Cascades National Park, Lake Tahoe, and the Grand Teton National Park!
But hey, maybe you’re more into the idea of a coast elopement. The sound of waves crashing, the feeling of sand between your toes, and the stunning sunsets can make for an unforgettable experience too! The West Coast has plenty to offer, from the rugged beauty of Big Sur or the Oregon Coast to the tropical paradise of Kauai and Oahu in Hawaii. And let’s not forget the romantic coastlines of Italy and Greece and the dramatic cliffs of Ireland!!
Now, I hear you asking, “But what about Sedona?” Well, Sedona has red rock mountains that can provide a unique, tranquil setting for your elopement. It’s definitely worth considering and one of my absolute favorites!
There are a few things to keep in mind when deciding between these stunning locales. The first is, that drones are not allowed in National Parks. So, if you’ve been dreaming of those epic aerial shots, you might want to consider a location outside of a National Park. Also, these parks can get crowded, especially on weekends! That’s why I always recommend a midweek elopement, no matter which location you choose. Plus, the permitting process can be a bit of a hassle in National Parks. But remember, these places are National Parks for a reason – they’re incredibly beautiful!
So, how do you decide? It’s all about what speaks to you more. Ask yourself: Do you want to hike up a mountain or surf in the ocean? What activities do you want to incorporate into your special day? What kind of scenery makes your heart flutter? No matter where you choose, remember that your elopement is about you and your partner and the love you share. Whether you’re in the mountains or on the coast, it’s going to be a day to remember.
Whether you are planning an intimate ceremony, with the towering peaks of the mountains or the serene waters of Lake Tahoe as your backdrop. Or you’re dreaming of exchanging vows amidst the natural beauty of Italy’s romantic coastlines. Or the dramatic cliffs of Ireland! No matter what your dream destination may be, I’m here to help make it happen! But remember, your elopement is about so much more than just the location. It’s about you and your partner celebrating your love in a way that feels authentically you. It’s about incorporating the activities you love into your special day, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
